Are you a jerk photographer?

Are you a jerk photographer…?
Do you move around clicking photos without enjoying the moment?

Me and my friend came across a huge lion when we were travelling in a wildlife park.. Guess what he did first  as soon as someone shouted from the rear of the jeep that “ A Lion!”

He unstrapped out his expensive camera and begin to hunt  it through lens! When we could see the animal, in a blink of eye he  recorded until he was gone completely and then returned back to the world… same happened when we came across a beautiful ghat which didn’t last much.. But he was into video shooting.. Why shoot with lens when you could shoot it with your own god-gifted eyes??
I don’t understand the purpose …

Think about this.. Would you video shoot the entire roller coaster ride or just enjoy it without any artificial accessory with your both hands up? Or see a dolphin show in the same way?!

DONT YOU WANNA ENJOY IT?

Before the age of digital photographs film photography was so much cherished !!And believe me with a few photos you can become a good story teller just like our elders are!
Only 36 in a roll!! And that would be cherished from the heart… It gives us more than what 16 GB ultra zoom high tech resolution Dslr can give..

That is the beauty of rarity… The rarity principle… any thing in excess is heartless !
Enjoy it less !

  1. Loved it Amit :)

I remember we been to Death vally Last fall. Abhi wanted to capture it in his Nikon D 60 SLR. He bought various new accessories for that camera especially for this trip. But first thing we notice was the place is soooooo beautiful and vast that it can not be captured in any camera. as god gave us wonderful picture he also gave us two amazing cameras with unlimited battery life and memory stick with unlimited space :)

We should cherish the moments :)

  4. Interesting, but at times it's important to capture such moments :P... Lot of folks need inspirational stuff to explore such experiences :) n Photographers are only ones who can do that :)

  6. In essence, I agree. The need of the hour is a few good pictures. But unfortunately, the introduction of digital cameras las led to a lot of mediocre pictures being shot. So photographer usually click multiple shots hoping that a few of these would be keepers.

But yes, enjoying the moment is also important. Unless, of course, you are shooting as a paid assignment, in which case it would be your highest priority. But if one is out with friends, visiting a place or enjoying a show, in addition to capturing it, they need to relax and enjoy the moment.

  7. Photos usually extend the moments, by invoking the same emotions which were experienced while capturing it :):)
